The outside thermostat is reading -8 and our inside thermostat is reading +3.8. what could be causing this difference in temperature?

Post by pars****r@comcast.net

The freezer is set to −8°f, but the inside reads +3.8°f, meaning it is 11.8°f above setpoint. possible causes include defrost recovery, frequent door opening, warm loading, ice buildup, poor airflow, dirty condenser, or a refrigeration fault. since +3.8°f is slightly above the recommended 0°f freezer temperature, monitor it and call for service if it does not pull down.
